Community Health Partners of Longview is sponsoring a free dental clinic for low-income veterans and their dependent children from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on August 16 in Longview.
The University of Washington Community Dental Clinic will provide care and referrals for restorative care by the University of Washington School of Dentistry. Restorative care may be scheduled the same day or later, depending on availability.
Veterans must live in Cowlitz, Wahkiakum, or Lewis counties to qualify.
The event aims to address a critical gap in access to dental care for veterans and their families who often face financial and logistical barriers to receiving necessary treatment. Poor oral health can lead to significant complications, including infections, pain, and even systemic health issues, so this initiative is particularly timely and important.
Dental professionals and volunteers from the University of Washington will conduct dental exams, cleanings, and provide oral health education during the clinic. The availability of on-site referrals for restorative dental care means patients needing more extensive treatments such as fillings, crowns, or root canals will be connected with specialists who can offer follow-up care. This continuity of care ensures patients receive comprehensive treatment beyond the initial free services.
Community Health Partners emphasizes that the clinic is a no-cost service with no insurance required, removing financial barriers for those who qualify. The organization encourages all eligible veterans and their children to take advantage of this opportunity.
This free dental clinic represents an important community effort to improve veterans’ health outcomes and supports the broader goal of ensuring all residents have access to essential health services.
