SEPTEMBER 17, 2025 – MITCHELL – Students in Lawrence County will soon have access to free and affordable dental care through the School Smiles on-site dental program.
In October, a mobile dental team will visit several local schools to provide services to children whose families register in advance.
The program is scheduled to visit Burris Elementary on Monday, Oct. 6; Hatfield Elementary on Tuesday, Oct. 7; and Mitchell Junior High and High School on Thursday, Oct. 9.
School Smiles accepts Medicaid, private insurance, and self-pay options. Additionally, grants from the program’s foundation ensure that no child is turned away due to financial need.
Services offered include dental cleanings, fluoride treatments, X-rays, sealants, restorative care, and free dental supplies.
