The URGE Foundation, founded by musician Ziggy Marley, has expanded its efforts to improve access to healthcare by hosting a free dental clinic in Portland.
Partnering with Healthcare International, the foundation set up the clinic at Chepstowe Basic School, where hundreds of residents received treatment.
According to a statement shared on social media, the initiative provided dental examinations and care to about 200 students and community members.
Another 350 people from neighboring communities were treated through the foundation’s mobile dental unit, which continues to reach underserved areas.
The event is part of the URGE Foundation’s broader mission to support children and families through education, health, and community development programs. Established in 1992, the organization maintains an active presence in Jamaica, Africa, and North America.
