Dallas-based Smile Doctors has strengthened its network over the last few years through various partnerships and de novo offices.

2025
1. Smile Doctors acquired myOrthos, an OSO with more than 70 locations, in March.
2. The organization completed eight new affiliations with orthodontists across seven states.
3. Through its joint venture program, Smile Doctors opened practices in Texas, Virginia and Michigan.
4. Smile Doctors was included on Newsweek‘s lists of the greatest workplaces for inclusion and diversity and the greatest workplaces in healthcare.
5. Smile Doctors was listed as one of the most acquisitive private equity-backed DSOs since 2021 in PitchBook’s “Healthcare Services Report” for the first quarter of 2025.
2024
1. Smile Doctors added 31 affiliated locations and opened five de novo practices in 2024.
2. The OSO entered four new states in 2024: South Dakota, Connecticut, Massachusetts and Pennsylvania.
3. The company made several additions to its senior leadership team, including hiring Jon Kaufman as chief marketing and strategy officer and Tonya Ramsey as chief legal officer. It also promoted David Nolan to the role of COO.
2023
1. Smile Doctors partnered with 28 affiliates in 2023, adding 72 new practice locations to its network.
2. The company opened four de novo locations.
3. Smile Doctors introduced a joint venture partnership model for its partner doctors in October that allows partners to hold ownership of practices at the local level and also join in the success of the DSO on the network level.
4. The DSO completed a capital raise of $550 million to continue its network expansion.
