Dental Clinic in Barrow Meets All CQC Standards in Latest Inspection, Praised for Patient Care

A Barrow dental clinic has received positive feedback after its latest inspection by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), which found that Mydentist Advanced Oral Health Centre, located at 123 Oxford Street, met all regulatory requirements.

The off-site inspection, conducted in December 2025, reviewed the practice’s risk assessments, policies, staff records, and patient feedback. Inspectors also assessed the premises remotely and conducted staff discussions.

The CQC report highlighted the clinic’s strong risk management systems, including infection control and prevention measures. Leadership was described as effective, and a culture of continuous improvement was noted.

Recruitment practices were found to align with current legislation, and the clinic’s facilities were deemed accessible, offering step-free access and dedicated disabled parking. The practice provides both NHS and private dental services for children and adults.

Mydentist employs 14 staff, including three dentists, one hygienist, eight dental nurses (two of whom are trainees), a receptionist, and a practice manager. Patients consistently praised the care they received, with feedback emphasizing the professionalism, friendliness, and clarity of explanations from staff.

The practice also demonstrated a thorough understanding of safeguarding procedures, with staff trained to escalate concerns when necessary. Additionally, the clinic offers reasonable adjustments, such as a hearing induction loop, large print materials, and translation services, to cater to patients with specific needs.

Overall, the clinic’s commitment to high-quality care and patient satisfaction was strongly affirmed by the CQC inspection.
