Dentistry. One, Harmony Health Launch Saliva-Based Program to Improve Oral Health Access

Dentistry. One, a virtual-first dental care platform, has partnered with Harmony Health Foundation (HHF) to expand preventive dental care and oral health education. The program, beginning in Tennessee, will soon roll out to Idaho, with additional states planned.

Through the initiative, HHF will collaborate with community partners to provide saliva-based oral health screenings for underserved populations. Kits will test for key biomarkers, helping detect bacterial imbalances, inflammation, and risks for gum disease or tooth decay.

Dentistry. One will assist participants in interpreting results and provide personalized guidance, including preventive education, oral hygiene recommendations, virtual consultations, or referrals for in-person care.

“Harmony Health Foundation is creating a scalable, community-driven model that brings oral health screening and education directly to the people who need it most,” said Brant Herman, CEO of Dentistry. One and MouthWatch. “Many patients don’t know what their symptoms mean or where to start. By combining saliva testing with virtual care, we extend dental expertise beyond the traditional office and provide anytime, anywhere access to personalized coaching.”

HHF works through local organizations—such as public health clinics, food distribution networks, and community wellness centers—making screenings accessible to those facing transportation, cost, or coverage barriers.

“Everyone deserves clear answers and an easy path to better health,” said Kendra Flowers, interim executive director at HHF. “By meeting people where they are, combining saliva-based screening with virtual care, we remove barriers and empower communities with early detection and actionable guidance.”

Dentistry. One’s platform allows live or asynchronous consultations with dentists. For cases requiring in-person treatment, care coordinators help schedule appointments with nearby providers.

The Tennessee launch marks the first phase of HHF’s multistate expansion, with Idaho next. Together, the organizations aim to create a repeatable model that improves oral health outcomes through early detection, education, and accessible care.
