PORTLAND, Ore. — Eddie Ramirez, D.M.D., a Portland dentist, is one of the 2025 recipients of the American Dental Association’s prestigious “10 Under 10” Award, recognizing outstanding dentists who graduated less than a decade ago.
Ramirez discovered his passion for dentistry at age 8 during a visit to his aunt’s dental office. His career has since progressed from dental assistant to dental director at a private practice, where he manages a team of 18.
In a video produced by the ADA, the 2018 graduate of the Oregon Health & Science University School of Dentistry emphasized the importance of continuous learning. “When you come out of school, you think you’re supposed to know everything, but you don’t,” Ramirez said. “It’s called the ‘practice’ of dentistry. I learn something new every day.”
He also stressed the value of resilience and learning from mistakes. “Persevere, be resilient, have your goals, and you will succeed,” he said.
The ADA New Dentist Committee selects the “10 Under 10” honorees for demonstrating excellence and inspiring others in areas including science, research, education, practice leadership, philanthropy, and advocacy. The 2025 awardees were announced in March during the Elevate conference in Washington, D.C.
