Henry Schein One and Amazon Web Services (AWS) announced a strategic partnership to embed generative AI across the company’s dental-practice platforms, including Dentrix, Dentrix Ascend and Dentally.
The tie-up aims to make Henry Schein One the first AI-augmented practice-management system, the company said. AI will be integrated into scheduling, imaging, payments, treatment presentation and other routine workflows to reduce administrative load and support clinical decision-making.
Key features highlighted include a real-time documentation assistant that captures and summarizes patient encounters and voice-activated periodontal charting for hands-free charting.
The platforms will also gain predictive business intelligence, automated claims validation, dynamic pricing tools and AI-driven scheduling and communications to cut no-shows and personalize patient outreach.
AWS will underpin the effort with its cloud and AI services, including Amazon Bedrock and Transcribe Medical, enabling global scale and compliance, the companies said. Henry Schein One plans to roll the enhanced capabilities out across the U.S., U.K. and E.U.
“Cutting-edge AI is finally meeting clinical expertise,” Ryan Hungate, chief clinical and strategy officer at Henry Schein One, said in a statement. He described the partnership as a step toward “an AI-first ecosystem” that unifies tools previously kept in silos.
Dan Sheeran, vice president and general manager for healthcare and life sciences at AWS, said the collaboration seeks to improve patient outcomes while easing administrative burdens for dental teams.
Both companies emphasized data privacy, regulatory compliance and interoperability as core design goals. Henry Schein One said it will use AWS infrastructure to maintain consistent standards of care and security across regions.
The partnership underscores growing investment in healthcare-specific AI solutions as vendors seek to automate documentation, billing and patient engagement tasks. Henry Schein One and AWS did not disclose a timeline for full deployment or specific pricing for the new services.
