Connecticut FQHC resumes dental services after yearlong pause

The Torrington (Conn.) Health Center has reinstated its dental services after suspending services in February 2025, according to an April 14 report from The Lakeville Journal.

The center paused services due to significant financial challenges.

In July, an agreement was struck to provide the 17 federally qualified health centers in Connecticut with $80 million in adjustments over the next three years.

Ting Luo, DDS, will lead the dental department at Community Health & Wellness Center.

Services that will be provided at the center include routine exams, cleanings, X-rays, fillings, simple extractions, fluoride treatments, scaling and root planning and sealants.

Dental care resumed at the Torrington location on April 20, with a resumption date for the Winstead, Conn., location to be determined, the report said.

At the Becker’s 5th Annual Future of Dentistry Roundtable, taking place September 14-15 in Chicago, dental leaders and executives will gain insights into emerging technologies, practice growth strategies and the evolving landscape of dental care delivery, with a focus on innovation, patient experience and operational excellence.
