Dentists launch national #DentalSAFETY movement to boost public confidence

No known COVID-19 cases have been tied to U.S. dental practices, though dentists have treated over half a million dental emergencies, according to the CDC. A large population of patients have untreated dental issues because they fear entering a dental office, according to a release from Pacific Dental Services.

Dentists who want to participate should record a one-minute video with a dental example of mitigating risk through safety protocols, or record a two-minute video about a patient safety story. They should then post the video to social media and include the hashtags #DentalSAFETY, #DentalER and #DentalHEROES.

Many leading dental service organizations have promoted the movement, including Heartland Dental, Pacific Dental Services and SmileBrands.
