ICLO, a Korean health-tech startup, is accelerating the digital transformation of oral healthcare by linking patients, dental clinics, and local governments through AI-powered services.
Founded in March 2020 by CEO Junbae Kim, ICLO aims to raise Korea’s low dental examination rate and reduce treatment costs through early detection and preventive care. The company works with dental clinics and municipalities nationwide to expand access to oral health screening.
ICLO’s core products are HOMEDEN, an AI-based oral assessment app for consumers, and HOMEDEN CONNECT, a SaaS platform designed for dental clinics.
HOMEDEN allows users to take photos inside their mouth using a smartphone. The AI analyzes signs of cavities, tartar, and gum disease, then generates a preliminary report. Based on the results, users can decide whether to visit a dentist and request remote consultations through the app. The service targets Korea’s dental check-up rate of just 26.9% by encouraging earlier intervention.
HOMEDEN CONNECT supports clinics by automating patient management, from pre-visit triage to scheduling. The platform organizes oral images, X-rays, and orthodontic records, and offers tools such as an AI orthodontic diary, automated treatment plans and cost estimates, and patient reminder systems. These functions are designed to improve workflow efficiency and deliver more structured, personalized care.
ICLO highlights three competitive strengths: data-driven AI accuracy, clinic-focused functionality, and an integrated ecosystem. Its AI models have been trained on more than 8 million real-world clinical images from Korea and overseas, enhancing diagnostic reliability. Unlike basic screening tools, the company’s solutions are built for everyday dental practice. By combining consumer screening with clinical management, ICLO creates a unified data pipeline that can also connect with local governments and insurers.
The company has raised about 800 million KRW in seed funding from investors including Commax Ventures, KB Securities MISC, and Next Challenge. It has since launched HOMEDEN and established commercialization testbeds for HOMEDEN CONNECT.
ICLO is now preparing for a Pre-Series A round to support service expansion and overseas growth. The startup is in talks with global healthcare partners and plans to pursue North American market entry and insurance-linked business models as it moves toward a Series A, positioning itself as a key player in Korea’s digital oral healthcare transformation.
