JTCHS to Provide Free Dental Care for Children on Give Kids a Smile Day

MIAMI, Fla., March 4, 2026 — Jessie Trice Community Health System (JTCHS) will host its annual “Give Kids a Smile Day” on March 21, offering free dental services to uninsured children in Miami-Dade County.

The event will run from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the JTCHS Corporate Office, located at 5607 NW 27th Avenue in Miami. The program is organized in partnership with the Miami-Dade County Dental Society.

Licensed dentists and dental professionals will provide free general services to eligible children who do not have insurance.

Services will include dental exams, cleanings and sealants. The goal is to improve access to preventive oral care and address unmet dental needs among local families.

“Give Kids a Smile Day reflects our continued commitment to improving children’s health across the communities we serve,” said Dr. Deborah George, executive vice president and chief dental officer at JTCHS. She encouraged families to participate and take advantage of the no-cost services.

In addition to dental screenings and preventive treatments, the event will feature family-friendly activities. Organizers plan to offer face painting, bounce houses, games and prizes. Food and entertainment will also be available.

JTCHS is one of Miami-Dade County’s leading federally qualified health centers. The organization is governed by a community-based board, with a majority of members receiving care at the center. It provides comprehensive healthcare services, including dentistry, family medicine, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, behavioral health, HIV/AIDS treatment, nutrition counseling, pharmacy services and community health programs.

The annual event aims to reduce barriers to care and promote lifelong oral health for children in underserved communities.
