A dentist was allegedly assaulted by a patient and his companion at a dental clinic in Lalita Nagar under Kolar police jurisdiction on Thursday afternoon. The assailants also vandalised the clinic, smashing its glass panels.
Police said Dr. MF Haq, a resident of Koh-e-Fiza who runs the clinic, was attending to patients when a man, identified as Saurabh Yadav, arrived with an associate and demanded immediate treatment.
“When the doctor explained that another patient was being treated and that Saurabh would have to wait, he became agitated,” police stated.
The confrontation escalated, with Saurabh and his companion allegedly assaulting Dr. Haq and damaging the clinic’s glass panels.
Following the incident, the dentist filed a complaint, prompting Kolar police to register a case under relevant sections for assault and vandalism. Investigations are ongoing.
