Since June 2024, individuals with special needs in Moldova have had access to free dental care under general anesthesia. This service is offered to both children and adults, fully covered by the National Health Insurance Company.
Nearly 250 patients have benefited from this program so far, including 155 children and 89 adults since the start of 2025.
Children can receive treatment at the Mother and Child Institute within the “Emilian Co?aga” Republican Clinical Hospital for Children. Appointments are available Monday to Friday, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Parents or guardians must schedule visits in advance and provide the child’s medical history.
Adults with special needs can be treated at the Republican Center for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, located within the Institute of Emergency Medicine. Appointments are available Monday to Friday, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
The Ministry of Health confirmed that the three institutions chosen for the program have the necessary resources to ensure high-quality care for patients with special needs.
